In case I didn’t mention it, I have been traveling with my husband and our 14-year-old Persian cat in our truck and mini travel trailer for a couple of weeks. It’s our third summer of visiting family and friends who will likely never again come to see us in California.
As disheartening as that fact is — because the physical terrain of the State of California is still absolutely gorgeous despite the sociopolitical nightmare of the “state” of the “State” — we love doing the next best thing to walking across the US, which is traveling by RV.
You could, if you wanted, follow along on our adventure here, on my SharineCreates Substack:
Either way, we’ll be on the road for quite some time. And we’re not just pulling through fast-food poison factories or cooking up some packaged microwaveable mess for lunch. We removed the microwave in our trailer to create more storage space, so we can shop and chop and cook and clean because THIS LITTLE RIG IS OUR HOME.
We endeavor to have meaningful conversations with folks, even at gas stations, in grocery stores, or even at highway rest stops. Our goal is to bring our individual and combined light to the world.
Sometimes, it happens through us making music. Other times, we’re smiling at passersby. Once in a while, we have a random spiritually deep conversation with a campsite neighbor while they’re walking their dogs or sharing the laundry room.
Traveling like this brings home the notion that our Divine Connection isn’t some grand moment, supposedly brought on by hours of meditation with specific crystals and incense and such. I’m not bagging on anyone who does that; I’m just saying that we have a different way.
We feel that it’s about living fully — moment by moment — and consciously, purposefully, engaging in LIFE.
That is my simple message for today’s post. It is late, and I need to rest, as tomorrow is our last day at this particular campground in the Midwest. It will be a day of fun but also we need to shop, pack up, and prepare to move on to new places where we can offer our spark-and-sparkle of the Divine to whomever we encounter!
Much much love to you all.💝
Agree 100% Sharine about engaging with life. Throughout the insanity of the last few years I have not stopped playing music, or hiking in beautiful places, or like you, hitting the open road. These things are fuel for the soul--without this the soul dies and we have nothing left to fight the anti-life forces.
(Such a shame about California and the PNW in general--a land I love, in the grips of the likes of Portland and San Francisco. I have found refuge at least in northern California, where the no-nonsense rural ranching folk here are not as compliant... and strangely also, not as sick.😆)
