UPDATE 11-24-2022: I embedded the YouTube version of the video so people who do not want to subscribe to Peggy Hall’s Substack can watch. (H/t Richard Seager for letting me know.)
Dear readers:
I just watched this video of Peggy Hall sharing extremely disturbing violence at the hands of the San Diego Sheriff's Department at a San Diego County Board of Supervisors meeting. While watching, I could barely contain my roiling mixed emotions of outrage, sadness, and disbelief. Of course, it is totally believable, but there is something in me that found unimaginable the abject, unnecessary savagery done to a tiny woman — all because she stood up for truth, love, and justice.
Get ready to witness a scene you thought you would only see in the movies.
This is happening here, and if we don’t speak out about it now, it will be happening everywhere without end.
I am a jack if many trades and a master of none.😉
Poor woman had a life changing event and deserved some compassion and tenderness. Faceless public officials with no moral compass.
We have four of them with us tonight.
Sounds like you and Ron are in for a fun weekend. Perhaps you could share a short video of some of the music?
That was hard to watch. Coming from a law enforcement background and family it was even more disturbing. This could have been handled in a much better way without violence. Totally unnecessary in a public forum in particular. At the least two of them could have carried her outside of the room and deescalated the confrontation. Instead that one guy in particular elevated the confrontation.
